The Duchess of Sussex announced the patronages that she will champion in her royal life in January, and they all have a new Instagram follower! Meghan and Harry’s new account now follows theNational Theatrein London, animal charityMayhewand women’s advocatesSmart Works. (Meghan’s fourth patronage,the Association of Commonwealth Universitiesdoes not have a dedicated Instagram account.) Undoubtedly, Meghan’s future patronages will receive an Instagram following from the royal.

Given Harry’s military background, it’s no surprise that he also gave an extra follow to his related patronages, theRoyal Air Force Honingtonand theRoyal Marines.

The royal couple are also following theQueen’s Commonwealth Canopy. They visited forests dedicated to the initiative during their tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji last year, emphasizing the importance of natural space. Most recently, Harry joined young students from St. Vincent’s Catholic Primary School toplant saplingsin the school’s outdoor nature area.
Queen’s Commonwealth Trustis another important organization to Meghan and Harry that made the cut on Instagram. Harry is president of the initiative, focused on helping youth in the 53 Commonwealth countries to enact positive change, and Meghan was recently named vice president of the Trust.
The couple captioned their very first social media post: “Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal.”- Harry & Meghan.
Harry and Meghan also shared a few of their favorite photos, which highlights their royal work. The nine photos include special moments from their royal tour to Australia last fall, Harry’s work with the military and his conservation efforts with elephants, Meghan’s bond with the women of the Hubb Community Kitchen and her connection with the public. The photo gallery ends with a dramatic black-and-white shot of the couple from their tour Down Under as they wave to the crowd while holding hands.
