The Crownis flashing back toKate Middleton’s model moment at the University of St. Andrews.
The sixth and final season ofThe Crown, which debuted in 2016, is split into a two-part premiere for its final chapter. Part 1 premiered on Nov. 16 and focuses on the events surroundingPrincess Diana’s tragic death in 1997, while part 2, debuting on Dec. 14, is expected to take the show into the early 2000s — including the start of Kate andPrince William’s love story.
“A first look at the epic conclusion,” Netflix captioned the carousel on Instagram, along with the part 2 release date.
The carousel rolls to McVey playing William, kicking back with a laugh beside Luther Ford asPrince Harry, and Kate’siconic sheer dresson the college catwalk.

The Netflix shot shows Bellamy confidently striding in a recreated version of the lingerie-style dress that Princess Kate, now 41, wore while participating in a 2002 fashion show at the University of St. Andrews during her sophomore year.
Her fashion statement in the daring look — which was originally intended as a skirt —reportedly caughtPrince William’s eye. The pair was rumored to have gone from friends to romantic interests after the fashion show — and the rest is royal history.

Designer Charlotte Todd, who made the piece as part of her university coursework, previouslytold PEOPLEthat her assignment “was called ‘The Art of Seduction,’ which is quite apt, really. I didn’t know who Kate Middleton was and I didn’t put her in it. It was just pure chance!”
Although Todd never met the royal, she said is delighted to have played even a small role Kate’s eventual marriage to William. The seductive slip, which cost less than $50 to make, later sold at auction in 2011 (William and Kate’s wedding year!) for $125,000.

“I’m thrilled,” Todd said of playing a part. “Everyone says that the fashion show was when the romance started, so a small part of me will always be part of royal history. It’s madness!”
While it remains to be seen howThe Crownshowrunner Peter Morgan might depict the pivotal moment in part 2 of season 6, Netflix gave another glimpse of the action with the other images. The photos show William (McVey) giving a wave before a crowd of smiling women,Princess Margaret(Lesley Manville) smoking before a pool and former Prime MinisterTony Blair(Bertie Carvel) making a stern speech.

The final installment, told in six episodes, is expected to conclude multiple storylines, from Queen Elizabeth reflecting on her legacy, Charles and Camilla taking the next step in their relationship and Prince William falling for Kate at college in Scotland.
The Crownseason 6, part 1, is now streaming on Netflix.
