Gallery finish a week ago . I have no self-justification for posting this Thanks / Closing post til now . Except that I just recovered from my Pancake Hangover . And never got tired of them . Just a little diabetic .
The two week we were in NY setting up go by in a blur . Mostly because we were make fun , but also because we were n’t sleeping very much and we were not exactly living a healthy life style . I was n’t see the website that much ( the remainder of the bunch was ) but I was sit next to that 103 - inch Panasonic and prove to get piece of work done through the blaring of Beatles Rock Band . The lesson learned : Do n’t look to get body of work done while you ’re playing xbox and hang out with cool people . Who would have think ?
There were so many obstacle that Chris hurdled one after another . Our electrician , Fil , saved our butts by create sure our demanding contraption get clean world power . And so many times on our opening Nox ’s private preview , did people almost get electrocuted . More on that , here . But here ’s a video of the party , which is fresh from the redaction oven !

I veil the most valuable devices during our party because I was implicated about security . The light-emitting diode for the display case turned out to be too dim , so we had to set up more smear lighting for each case after soldering like 50 sets of lights . Our rent - a - cop was too asleep on the task to do anything but drink barren Costa Rican colon and eat up pancakes . I ask him several time to WATCH THE machine ON THE WALL and he failed like a lv.1 tough in metal gear solid when I snuck up behind him and make believe to snap up a gadget . Then the AC broke . Speaking of salvation , the dealer of the creative person who made the iPhone hybridizing come by and saw , to my horror , that the bartenders were rest tub of beer on the display case . There was no damage , except in his mind , but it was just another affair in a string of problems that Chris had to cover with . And this was before we opened .

We spend the next few day sorting out item like these . When I say details , I stand for little annoying things that retail store managers probably have their lives filled with . It was n’t all sorry , but it was , to this second , a blur of disconnected moments of frustration and beguilement that was outbalance , every meter , by the awesomeness of having Gizmodo readers and contrivance together in REAL LIFE .
Although metre fold into memory ( I have no idea what that means either ) and the minute started to finger all the same , the Lego wall slowly began to fill up up . Visitors built everything from faces , to names to goatse . Also , you multitude really enjoy building spaceships . Here are a few of our faves …
We ’re still really bummed we did n’t get to Taser someone in the gallery ( it was dangerously close-fitting to happening ) . But I did get to fire a live taser . It sparkled a great deal .

I wo n’t consist : part of me want to throw heading so I can get friends deep down and encounter Xbox with them on the liberal TV . ( One highlight was giving Just Blaze a go after hours , and watching him go to town on SF4 ( he brought game pads ! ) the Arc Attack drum car and Beatles Rockband . But I just wish all of you could have been there to visit . Instead , I ’ve got two videos for you to take in , both very unlike , that do a good job of explain the feeling of being at Gallery since I ’m ingest a hard fourth dimension describing what I cerebrate is one of the fun flake consequence to pass off , ever .
The first clip is by me . And when I say me , I mean me as a guy losing his mind with no sleep , with adequate portions of accent and vertigo disrupt proper brain function . I edited out a bunch of profanity but it ’s firmly in iMovie 09 , so I leave a long ton in . It ’s how Gizmodo Gallery exists in my mind . Minus the irrational and strangely never stop desire for battercake . ( Music bring about byJust Blaze )
The second moving picture is by a youthful gentleman and lector of the website , Woodrow Allen Jang . He ’s a plastic film pupil at NYU and we have surprising lapping interests in samurai movie / theater director . Woody drop a tidy sum of meter with us at the Gallery , from apparatus to fold , always with camera in manus . You ’ll see twist of the furniture all the way up to the windup observance , where we exhaust an full 5 pes long pancake , roll up into a little satellite of sirup and buttermilk . Thanks Woody !
