The FCC voted on Thursday to permit phone carrier to immobilise undesirable calls and illegal robocalls before those calls make it to consumers ’ phones .
FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai first proposed themeasure last month , and he championed the cause in aUSA Today op - edpublished Thursday morning , in which he hint that the primary parties opposing the measuring rod are businesses that use robocalls , like debt collectors and course credit North .
