Brittany Cartwrightis prioritizing her son amid herseparationfrom husbandJax Taylor.
On Thursday, theVanderpump Rulesalums announced that they are taking some time apart, with Cartwright, 35, sharing the news on their joint podcastWhen Reality Hits. As she explained that she and Taylor, 44, are currently living separately, Cartwright said that she is most concerned about their 2-year-old son Cruz.
“I’m taking it one day at a time,” Cartwright said of the separation. “I don’t know what the future holds, but right now my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz and I love you guys. Pray for us and everything will be just fine. We’re good.”

In August, Cartwright and Taylor shared with PEOPLE that they werethinking of expanding their family.
“We’re definitely gonna have more kids. At least one more,” Taylor said at the time. “We’re just really busy right now. It’s been a very busy summer. We’re very blessed.”

In addition to being a hands-on parent, Taylor said at the time that he and Cartwright gained some solid ground as a couple.
“Brittany’s just an amazing person,” he shared. “She’s my best friend, she’s my wife. You know, we have such a solid relationship. I can’t speak highly enough of her. She’s kind of like the rock of our family.”
Added Taylor, “I love her to death and I don’t know if I’d still be on this planet if it wasn’t for her to be honest. Her and my son, they kind of really saved me after my father died. I really owe my whole life to her.”
In April 2022, theVanderpump Rulesalums shared sweet photos from theirson Cruz’s lavish party in honor of his first birthday.
The proud parents threw their little boy a baseball-themed party, which featured a ball pit and an appearance from Mickey Mouse. They documented the festivities on social media, snapping pictures with friends and family.
Taylor and Cartwright first met at a Las Vegas bar in 2015. After they briefly split in 2017, the pair reconciled off camera and later announced their engagement inJune 2018.
A year later in June 2019, they wed at the Kentucky Castlein front of 240 guests. They later welcomed their only son, Cruz Michael Cauchi, in April 2021, months after theyannounced their departurefrom the Bravo series.
