I was favorable . I got the last seat on flight BA177 on Thursday . It was the last flight of stairs that left to New York that day , after an extra six hour postponement ( patently , there ’s only one defrosting machine in Heathrow ) on top of the two solar day . The previous mean solar day , they canceled two of my flights . The next daylight , they cancelled all flight of steps again .
While the weather was speculative , there was no exculpation to what happen at Terminal 5 those days . British Airways and the people at the airport were nowhere to be get after 6 pm . Before that , there were n’t helpful , offering no directions except “ we do n’t know ” and “ they have n’t told us anything . ” They were the most incompetent , most derisory mass I ’ve ever found anywhere in the planet , leaving all their customers unattended on the eventide , and treating everyone like cattle the residue of the prison term . There was a degree in which passengers had to step in and devise the baggage swath , because the machine were overflowing and jam . At another point , there were passenger fighting for food in the deviation area . Sad .
When the bozo at JFK ’s customs asked me if I had anything to declare , I quoted Dennis Farina in Snatch , from the very mystifying bottom of my heart and soul : “ Do n’t go to England . ” And do n’t ever fly British Airways . [ NASA ]
